Episode 10.

During the period of staying with my aunt,  I went through a lot: I can remember the time I had to hawk garri and skip school and I also almost got raped on different  occasion,  the guy I usually hawk with started putting his finger in between my Virginal at the age of twelve and he  always do threaten me of never opening my mouth to discuss with my aunt and moreover my aunt was never interested in what ever happened during the period I Went on  hawking, she is more concerned about the money and whatever I had to say was nothing of great importance to her. I spent two extra  year at home doing nothing and the day I realized running back to my dad’s house was one of the day I chose the right decision about my life,  I trekked  all the way from my aunt’s  house to my dad’s, which was about two hundred kilometer far, but at least my prayer got answered because a stranger have never met  was there who interceded for my sake and my step mum  forgave me and accepted me back and that was how my new life started.  Two months later I started going to a new school, public school to be precise that was because most of the private school will not admit someone like me due to some circumstances like” she can not  construct complete  sentence”that was what the principal of the first private school we went to said,  my eye were full of tears and my head aching like a pounding pestle was placed on my forehead,  that was how hard it was for me then,  I felt useless and daft because most of these schools, their pupils were speaking grammar,  not like in the village where all we speak is little pegin with  Yoruba accent,  All I know now is I have a whole lot of work to do if I need to get a school to admit me. I started reading alot of books even though I never really understood them but I felt it was better than before but at the end of first month I could speak some little words and construct much sentence than before. I got admitted to a semi private school two months later: am very happy to be a student and being a semi private school girl was never my problem until I got to senior secondary one.
