Ever wonder why some people made it in life while others don’t? Some may say it is because they are born rich, while other attribute other people’s success to luck. Scott Adam the creator of Dilbert comic once said:
“You cannot make yourself lucky, but you can move from a game with bad odds to good .
01 – They Do Not Think or Miss the Past
The past is the past, it is gone. Successful and mentally strong people do not brag about their past achievements. What is the point of reminding everyone of your past achievement when it is today’s achievement that matters? Time and tide wait for no man. It is important NOT to forget about past good and bad experiences, the key is to learn from it and avoid repeating the same bad mistakes and not feel arrogant about the past glory days. Always look forward to the future.
“A year from now you will wish you had started today.” – Karen Lamb
02 – They Don’t Waste Time Feeling Sorry
Mentally strong and successful people do not feel sorry about their situation, it is especially true when it comes to how they are being treated, they simply choose not to response or get angry when someone looks down on them. Instead, they know life is not fair and the amount of time they have on this beautiful planet is limited, thus why waste precious time feeling sorry or angry?
“Don’t waste time grieving over past mistakes, learn from them and move on.” – Jackson Brown
03 – They Don’t Get Jealous Over Other People’s Success
Successful and mentally strong people do not care how successful others are, instead, they are happy for other people’s success. Why waste precious energy feeling angry or envy over other people’s success? Recognize their success, work hard, if not work harder and learn from them. Channel the jealous energy to something positive that can help you in your success. Remember, when you are driven by anger, you will make many mistakes along the way, mistakes that you will regret later on in life.
“Jealousy is just lack of self-confidence.” – Unknown

“When You Wanna Give Up, Remember Why You Started.” – Unknown
05 – They Do Not Feel the World Owes Them Anything
There is a reason why communism fails, the whole idea of the rich and successful robs the poor and deprive them of wealth simply doesn’t make any sense. “When you blame others, you give up your power to change.” – Dr.Robert Anthony

Steve Jobs is a good example, many failures in life, even more success that follows later on in his life. Successful and mentally strong people uses these failure to their advantage by learning what not to do in life.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison

“Nothing happens until the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change” – Arthur Burt
08 – They Don’t Waste Time on Issues They Cannot Control
Avoid wasting time complaining about things that are beyond your control, he who angers me conquers me. Focus on things that you are able to control in your life, for instant, complain about your own laziness and lack of motivation instead of complaining how you are deprive of opportunity because someone else is more hard working and willing to sacrifice.
“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.” – Steve Maraboli
