WHY WE WON’T WAIT
We have waited for two scores, hoping and wishing that our God’s given and constitutional rights would help. We moved from slow political movement to fast one that jeopardize d our financial state, we creep effortlessly towards gaining the independence we had once gotten, How easy can it be to say let “WAIT” if you have never be segregated because of something potassium and sodium hydroxide can change.
If your only son, whom you saved all earnings for was lynched and killed because you decided to give the best policy, if you suddenly find yourself trying to explain why your daughter can’t go for some certain competition, because of someone like her, “whose self-esteem was destroyed some times ago ” she was great but not given a chance to prove she was and she committed suicides. If your coloured child starts doubting her personality, then you sense the intense anger in her eye that asks the question” why you are coloured? If you are a scientist whose theory was not accepted because you are coloured, when you have to explain to your grandchildren while you couldn’t have been Albert Estein. When your name is pronounced “DARE” instead of ” dàrè” , if you had fill in a form for an online course, only for you to find out coloured people are excepted, if your son had been locked up in a cell because he was fighting for his right of identification that was taken for granted, if your first name of identification becomes ” Negro”, if you had been haunted and woken up one day with the desire of not being a black… Then you will know that some people are working hard’ sweating hard to show that black is not bad’ black is not daft.
Being coloured does not mean being insensible.
Black is brilliant and black is the best.
