Residents in Abuja are grieved with great fears as earthquake threatens their existence.
The Director General of FEMA, Abbas G. Idris said in a statement on Thursday that the tremor was caused by sudden breakage along a faulty line, making a sudden release of incompressible energy released and that caused the earth to shaken.
Idris also added that rock blasting and mining activities in an area could result in the underground rocks to experience stress.
They also advised the public not to panic but that they should remain calm as everything will be taken care of and the development for this are already been taken into actions.
It was also stated that the likelyhood for any occurrence of earthquake in Nigeria is very low as Nigeria is an a place susceptible to earthquake occurrence.
