Five women arrested for baby trafficking in Imo state.

The Imo State police command had arrested five suspects in connections with trafficking of babies in Imo state.

In the first case, one Ifeoma Chukwu, 30 and a Angelina Ukaegbu were arrested on August 30th, 2018 for selling a newborn baby for N130,000.

It was gathered that Ifeoma got pregnant and was delivered of a baby boy. She subsequently sold the child to Angelina for N130,000

Similarly, the trio of Nwaokwe Chijioke, 18, Onyinyechi Chibueze, 29 and Nwokeogu Lilian Chinese, 35 were arrested for selling Nwaokwe ‘s 4 -month old baby.

The baby was sold to the proprietor of Unity Hopistal Anara in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Where Nwokeogu is a trainee nurse.

The suspect confessed to have received the sum of N550,000 as proceeds from a proprietor who is currently at large.
